Homemade Guacamole

Homemade Guacamole

Ready in: 15 minutes
Yield: 4 servings

1 avocado
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 pinch of salt
lime juice from 1/2 lime
1 fresh chili pepper

1. Wash and halve the lime. Squeeze the juice from 1 half into a small bowl. (Keep the other half refrigerated until ready to use.) Wash the chili pepper. Remove from the seeds and membranes. Finely chop the garlic and chili pepper.

2. Halve the avocado and remove the stone with a spoon. Peel the avocado halves. (Cut off any brown spots, if necessary.) Put the avocado flesh into a large bowl. Mash the avocado flesh with a fork, then add the lime juice and stir to blend evenly.

3. Add the garlic, chili pepper, sour cream and 1 pinch of salt. Stir until well blended. (The avocado should still be chunky). Transfer the guacamole into a large bowl.

4. Spread on protein bread if you like. Sprinkle over with chia seeds.

Personal note: Avocado should be kept maximum 1 day in the refrigerator, it’s best to serve the guacamole at once. Drizzle over with lime juice, then cover the guacamole with plastic wrap to prevent discolouring.
